Terms of Reference - Teaching and Education Working Party

Please Note: these terms of reference are draft and have not been endorsed by the NSG.  They will be considered at their Feb 2010 meeting

The Teaching and Education Working Party (TEWP) of the Australian Curriculum Framework for Junior Doctors will work with stakeholders to consider the training of junior doctors, educators, supervisors and administrators necessary to see sustainable implementation of the ACF.

Their activities will include but not be limited to:

  • Identification of training requirements for junior doctors, supervisors, educators and administrators to maximise the implementation and effective use of the ACF in prevocational training
  • Identification of opportunities for integrating the ACF in established training programs such as Teaching on the Run and Professional Development Program for Registrars (PDRP), college or university training programs.
  • Analyse gaps in training available for the stakeholder groups and develop project plans for funding consideration to address these gaps.
  • Review of proposals from the NSG and provide advice as appropriate.
  • Liaison with other Working Parties set up under the NSG.
  • Review of ongoing feedback on the implementation of the Curriculum Framework and make recommendations.
  • Presentation, through the Chair or a representative, progress reports to the National Steering Group
