Terms of Reference - Vertical Integration Working Party (VIWP)

Please Note: these are draft terms of reference and have not been endorsed by the NSG.  They will be considered at the Feb 2010 meeting. 

The Vertical Integration Working Party (WIWP) of the Australian Curriculum Framework for Junior Doctors will work with stakeholders to promote the vertical integration of the ACF at both the undergraduate and postgraduate training levels. Their activities will include but not be limited to:

  • Identification of mapping activities that have been undertaken by colleges or universities in regards to the ACF
  • Review of mapping data obtained to identify those colleges and universities who have not as yet engaged in mapping with the ACF.
  • Pilot program - engage with a selection of colleges and universities to map their curricula to the ACF
  • Identification opportunities for vertical integration of the ACF at the undergraduate and postgraduate training levels to facilitate national implementation of the ACF
  • Facilitate discussions with the universities and postgraduate colleges on ways in which vertical integration can be promoted
  • Explore the role of e-portfolio's in vertical integration. 
  • Undertake pilot process with representative undergraduate and postgraduate colleges in vertical integration activities e.g. supervisor training
  • Review of proposals from the NSG and provide advice as appropriate.
  • Liaison with other Working Parties set up under the NSG.
  • Review of ongoing feedback on the implementation of the Curriculum Framework and make recommendations.
  • Presentation, through the Chair or a representative, progress reports to the National Steering Group
