The Australian Curriculum Framework for Junior Doctors was developed under the auspices of CPMEC by a writing group of experienced clinicians and educators. CPMEC undertook extensive consultation and feedback prior to the launch of the Framework at the 11th National Prevocational Forum in Adelaide, November 2006. The full background to this process is described within the curriculum webpages.
2009 saw the first major revision of the ACF since its launch in 2006. The revision was undertaken by a subgroup of the National Steering Committee and Chaired by Dr Greg Keogh (National Project Director). The revision involved widespread feedback from all stakeholder groups and has ensured that the ACF continues to be a contemporary document meeting the needs of the junior doctors and the wider community.
The revised version has a new look. It is still available for printing as an A3 brochure version, however more widespread distribution is in a booklet format. This format has been positively received by the junior doctors and we appreciate the input they had into the design. Orders of the booklet are being coordinated through state PMCs.
